Following Hecht-Milicic-Schmid-Wolf's 1987 paper Localization and standard modules for real semisimple Lie groups I, I will give an introduction to the realization of standard modules of a real reductive group using D-modules on the flag variety.

This is to initialize a reading seminar on the geometric aspect of the representation theory of real reducitve groups.
