报告摘要:Dirac operators play an important role in various areas of mathematics. For instance, it was used by Parthasarathy in the 1970s to construct all discrete series representations for real reductive groups. More recently, it is also used in the study of automorphic forms (Barbasch-Pandzic, 2019) and K-theory of C*-algebras (Clare-Higson-Song-Tang, 2022).

 

In this talk, we give a complete classification of unitary representations with non-zero Dirac cohomology (= kernel of Dirac operator) for all complex simple Lie groups other than E8. We show that the K-type contributing to the Dirac cohomology is unique and of multiplicity one. The main idea is to reconcile two approaches of the classification problem proposed independently by Barbasch-Pandzic and Dong.

报告人简介:Kayue (Daniel) Wong is currently an assistant professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. Prior to that, he obtained his bachelor/master degree at Wadham College, Oxford University in 2007 under the Lee Shau-Kee Scholarship, and Ph.D. degree at Cornell University in 2013.
