In this talk, I will report some new progress on the growth problem of quantum groups of Drinfeld-Jimbo types. These involve in representation theory of quantum groups and the braided tensor category (Yetter-Drinfeld categories) in the structure theory of Hopf algebras. This is based on a series of joint work with Dr. Hongmei Hu.
