I will show some results on solving equations over quaternions, in particular, solving quadratic equations over quaternions. Also I will show you some open problems on this topic. This talk is for professional mathematicians, graduate students and even undergraduate students.

报告人简介：

赵开明，加拿大Wilfrid Laurier大学教授、博导；河北师范大学兼职教授、博导；主要从事李代数的研究工作，在《Advances in Mathematics》《Proceedings of the London Mathematical Society》《Transactions of the American Mathematical Society》等杂志发表高水平学术论文130余篇，相关工作被引用1400余次；先后主持中科院百人计划及多项国家自然科学基金面上项目和加拿大研究理事会基金项目，是国际代数学领域有重要影响的专家。
